Mundaring Truffle Festival - 2011 Highlights
One of the pleasures of a brisk winter in Western Australia is that we can savour fresh French black truffle straight from the earth to restaurants within hours. This is a rare privilege as so few countries can successfully grow the culinary delicacy.
Truffle is being happily farmed in the pristine earth and water of the South West, however it is celebrated in style at the annual Mundaring Truffle Festival. Since it began five years ago, the Festival has grown in prestige with the support of many renowned chefs, the food and wine industry, and media and government sponsorship.

The Festival has claimed its place on the global culinary calendar, attracting over 21,000 visitors from around Australia and the world with the help of a host of local, national and international food celebrities…. notably Alain Fabreques, Emmanuel Mollois, Stephanie Alexander, Philippe Mouchel and Malaysia’s Food Ambassador Chef Wan. Jo Garnett is currently contracted to the Shire of Mundaring to assist with logistics, public relations, celebrity contracts and entertainment management segments of the festival.

On behalf of the Shire of Mundaring and the Mundaring Truffle Festival Organising Committee, I would like to sincerely thank you for being such a valuable member of the organising committee. An event of this magnitude and calibre would not be possible without the involvement of someone as enthusiastic, dedicated and skilled as you. Your passion and commitment has shone through and the feedback and results we have achieved are testament to the work that you have done. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and the committee and I thank you most sincerely for your involvement.' Megan Griffiths, Chair

A CUP ABOVE LAUNCH

After drawing inspiration from travelling around Europe, Blanche Harper, a young Australian female entrepreneur, had a vision to return to Western Australia and create a first, a store which specialised in beautifully designed Bras with a larger cup size of D and above.

A Cup Above offers a warm, inviting environment where women are encouraged to take time, relax and enjoy the experience of selecting bras that are designed specifically for the larger breast.

The event brief was to create a relaxed environment whilst maximising coverage of the product. The end result was an evening of cosmic cocktails, fantastic food and a fashion show which included live models in the shop frontage. One of the models, Tahnee Atkinson won Australia's Next Top Model in 2009 and currently lives and works in Sydney and New York.

HEALTHY KIDS HEALTHY FAMILY EXPO

Located South of the River, this federally funded festival aimed to give parents and kids ideas about healthy lunch box snacks. In October 2009, over 3,000 parents and children gathered to enjoy a day of cooking demonstrations, entertainment and advice from a range of experts.

JVG Events were commissioned to oversee the logistics of the event, help with publicity and liase with stall holders over the relevent licences and insurances.
