Our next festival will take place on May 1st 2011 at Whiteman Park.

Yum In My Tum is a yearly event based in Perth, Western Australia which is dedicated to educating children on the the three main processes connected to food production - growing, cooking and tasting!

Over the last two years we have attracted crowds of over 13,500 parents and children.

Johanna also gained support from celebrity chefs around the world including Tobie Puttock, Maggie Beer, Tana Ramsay (wife of Gordon) and Stephanie Alexander. All these chefs helped in the production of the Yum In My Tum Magazine (free download below)

Media coverage included Channel 10 News, ABC Delicious Magazine and our Junior Chef finalists appeared on Channel 7's Today Tonight.

Johanna also currently writes for a local newspaper, has had articles published in OffSpring Magazine and given talks to teachers conferences in WA.

About Yum In My Tum

Having grown up with a serious dislike of veggies and trying any new culinary experiences, I have always understood fussy eaters....

However, over recent years I have discovered the pleasure of trying new foods.

With this in mind and drawing upon my previous teaching experiences, I decided to create an event which combined my own personal passions - namely educating children and cooking.

Yum In My Tum is my way of giving back to my local community and I hope throughout all our attempts we reach just one child and spark that cooking passion for life.

I've been told that Yum is the only food festival in Australia  for junior foodies and of this I will always be proud.

Every day parents around the country are looking for answers and help to that life mystery of why children don't eat their greens...and I hope we can help in some small way.

We hope you all enjoy the festival and that you support us in our new magazine.

Many thanks
Jo
